Castor oil
This oil is extracted from the oilseed of the flax seed (linseed) and was also produced in Iran in the past, but today the main, high-quality variety is the European type. 🌼
It dries to a surface dry in one week and to a deep dry in six months. Linseed oil dries on its own without the need for drying additives, forming its own characteristic film. 🌠
Linseed oil is used as a solvent for artists' oil paints, facilitating the flow and brushability of the paint. Heat-treated linseed oil becomes thick and stiff and is used in industrial paints.
Overall, in oil painting, linseed oil is a versatile and very practical resin and solvent. 🖼️
